About the event

Observation is a fundamental aspect of nature connection. We need to be able to see clearly if we are going to identify any plants, animals, or behavior that we may encounter. We need to be able to take time to reflect and observe ourselves, also, in order to change. While it may be true that written language is unique to industrialized cultures, it's undeniable that storytelling is an ancient, cross-cultural human skill. And, in the modern world, nature journaling is a popular catalyst to deepen understanding.

Make a wild nature journal with birch bark for the covers. Learn a few simple ways to tie the knots that bind the book. Decorate your journal using pressed flowers and non-toxic industrial glue. We'll give an overview of hide glue, as well.  All tools and materials required - just bring yourself, your creativity, and a willingness to learn!

Space in this class is limited. Preregistration is required to reserve a spot in the class. The class will begin promptly at the scheduled time. Please plan accordingly. If you know you can't attend class, a quick phone call or email is appreciated so we can make the spot available to other students. Contact Rewild Maine at (207) 449-7738 or rewildmaine@gmail.com if you have any questions.

NOTE: This class will be held entirely outdoors, rain or shine. Please dress appropriately.

Donations of $5-25 will be graciously accepted. Rewild Maine is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization. We depend on donations from the community to offer free classes and workshops and we are grateful for your support. Financial aid and scholarships are available for paid classes on an as-needed basis and nobody will ever be turned away for lack of funds. All donations are tax-deductible.
